Hot Bed Press
Hot Bed Press is a not-for-profit, open access print workshop, dedicated to supporting anyone with an interest in printmaking, and promoting printmaking to a wider audience.
Hot Bed Press was established in 1994 in Manchester UK by a small group of graduates/artists looking for somewhere to print.
Originally called Manchester Artists’ Papermaking and Printmaking Studio.
It is located in an old Victorian warehouse. You can use the equipment for screen printing, etching, drypoint, collagraphs, relief printing, letterpress and bnook arts.
Once a year they run an Under-The-Bed Sale whereby members clear out prints, and there is a large bargain sale of prints open to the public.
The place is continualy expanding, taking new floors, knocking down walls and creating new studios.
It was a perfect environment to take photographs on film there. The ambience, the building, the artists, full of creativity.
